Thessaloniki city: Brighter & Energy upgraded by DISANO

It has been successfully completed a major intervention regarding the energy upgrading of lighting in a series of central streets of Thessaloniki such as Nea Egnatia (K. Karamanli), Tsimiski, Megalou Alexandrou, Antheon (Andrea Papandreou), Vas. Sophias (Ethnikis Aminis),  Aggelaki, Pavlou Mela, 3rd September and others as well as in the historical center of the city (Ladadika, Kapani, Bezesteni).

In total, more than 4.000 led fixtures has been used , both for arm and post top mounting,  in order to replace the respective luminaires of conventional technology. In particular, the “Rolle”  & “Sforza” series of DISANO were used for street lighting,  the  DISANO “Garda” series was used for the lighting of gardens and pedestrian areas, while the DISANO “Lucerna” series has been selected for the historic city’s center, in favor of their "classic" design.

According to the first estimates of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, the positive impact of the energy improvement intervention is already impressively reflected in the PPC bills as the result from the hugely reduced power consumption, while at the same time the new lighting is really  impressive both in terms of quality and quantity as the average level of streets’ luminance has been aligned  to  the current European standard while the color of the light changed from yellow to "neutral white”  giving the city a sense of brightness and visual comfort for drivers & pedestrians.

In the historic city center, "warm" white lighting has been chosen as more compatible with the area’s “vintage atmosphere”.
